What a powerful poem! Thank you for sharing. And to make things a little better, the best part of my life started after 25! 🦋

Brought tears to my eyes. I relate deeply, I feel like when I was younger I always figured I would die young and in a sense welcomed it. But then I began to fall in love with life, right as the outer world began to truly come apart at the seams.. that deep shaky hope is all we can really reach for now. ❤️‍🩹

Dear poet,

What a beautiful poem.

Turning 25 was the only time in my entire life I felt an ominous buzzing and let the wist of ages gone by and the angst of ages to come wash over me.

Can't assign value to what's unfolded since, but can say that it takes immense courage and will to rise up against all that pushes back against our being and live.

Best,

Mahdi

“It’s hope that needs practicing now” is such a powerful turn. I love how this refuses easy optimism and makes hope something trembling, painful, and active—a muscle we choose to use despite our fear. That final “I will run” lands beautifully.
